HiFonics signal converters impress with their absolutely brilliant sound characteristics. This is no accident; the developers placed the utmost importance on outstanding technical specifications right from the design stage. And these specifications are truly impressive: sensationally high signal-to-noise ratios of 115-121 dB combined with very low total harmonic distortion of 0.00*1% impressively demonstrate that these converters are genuine highlights. They are designed for connection to conventional car radios that deliver up to 50 W/RMS per channel at 2 ohms.
As a further special feature, the multi-channel converters have a summing function. This circuit is essential for many new vehicles when the music signal cannot be accessed “as a single unit,” but rather the frequency ranges for the factory-installed speakers are electrically separated. A conventional converter would be completely useless in this case. With the HF-SC converters, the split output signals of the factory radio can be easily recombined by activating the “MIXED” function via a switch. The sophisticated electronics then generate a full-range signal at the outputs, which can be used to optimally drive external DSPs or amplifiers.
Thanks to EPS®, the converters can also be easily connected to factory radios that have a load detection circuit. As an additional feature for interference suppression, “Floating Ground” can be activated via a jumper.
